EQUIPMENT INCLUDED

We give you everything you need to get out on the water: kite, bar, board, harness, wetsuit, helmet, vest… You just bring the drive to get out there and learn, we’ll take care of the rest.

SUPPORT BOAT

Taking a lesson with the support boat is a whole different story. Whatever the problem, we’re right there with you. And if you drift off course, we’ll come and pick you up. Handy, right?

Beginner courses

Group beginner sailing course

Courses are held in groups, and the instructor will divide the students according to the number of lessons already completed to allow everyone to learn safely. Sailing classes are in the morning and we recommend 2-hour classes to ensure more time spent out on the water (and therefore more fun!).

Use of equipment, including harnesses, wetsuits, and life jackets, is included in the price.

N.B. Calm sea conditions and light winds (3-10 knots, 5-12 km/h) are required for the course to run smoothly and profitably, especially for the first sessions. If the instructor considers it appropriate, lessons will be rescheduled to the first available day.

  • Target: beginners, from 6 years old on
  • When: 1 or 2-hour daily classes between 9 am and 6 pm

Beginner sailing course -

Parent and Child

The new parent and child sailing course provided by PKS Maremma is the only one that let you enjoy this sea sport together with your child.

The lessons’ structure is the same as the beginner sailing course, with the advantage of having only one person paying: if your child is under 18, they won’t pay anything.

N.B. Calm sea conditions and light winds (3-10 knots, 5-12 km/h) are required for the course to run smoothly and profitably, especially for the first sessions. If the instructor considers it appropriate, lessons will be rescheduled to the first available day.

  • Target: a parent and their child (max 18 years old)
  • When: 1 or 2-hour daily classes, by prior arrangement and reservation, between 9 am and 6 pm.

Advanced courses

Sailing advanced course

Courses are held privately. Use of equipment, including harnesses, wetsuits, and life jackets, is included in the price.

N.B. For the course to run smoothly and successfully, weather conditions are essential. If the instructor considers it appropriate, lessons will be rescheduled to the first available day.

  • Target: advanced users from 6 years on
  • When: 1 or 2-hour daily classes, by prior arrangement and reservation, between 9 am and 6 pm

Sailing supervision

1 hour

The supervised sailing practice with one of PKS Maremma’s instructors means you can enjoy the sea with your dinghy or with a rental boat even if you are not yet fully confident in your abilities.

  • Target: those who want support for their practice
  • When: 1 or 2-hour daily classes, by prior arrangement and reservation, between 9 am and 6 pm

Five things to know before starting a PKS Maremma sailing course:

  • Starting with the basics of dinghies will give you a better understanding of the mechanics of sailing: small boats are more sensitive to wind, shifts, and every little adjustment, and will allow you to notice your mistakes right away. It may take a while before you become the new Jack Sparrow, but everything you learn in our beginner’s course will make you a real sea dog.
  • It is very important to become familiar with the water and the equipment. That’s why practice is always needed in sailing courses.
  • Safety is not to be taken lightly in any sport, but making a mistake on a soccer field will cause you to miss a goal at best. When it comes to dealing with the sea, struggling with wind and waves, there is much more at stake. Solo sea trips are essential to improve, but it is only when the basics are well understood that you are familiar with them. Also, remember to always warn someone that you are going out to sea.
  • What is the winning characteristic of a good sailor? Being multitasking! Starting with a small crew forces you to take care of several things at once. Get out on the boat with your instructor as much as you can and try to do each task-you’ll get used to having an overview right away!
  • Our advanced sailing course is also perfect for those who want to learn more about certain aspects of sailing and refresh their knowledge in preparation for the practical exam for the sailing license.
