Wingfoil
Wingfoil courses at PKS
Wingfoiling is one of those sports that, as soon as you try it, makes you wonder why you didn’t start sooner. You have a board with a foil underneath that lifts you out of the water and a wing in your hands that catches the wind. The result? You fly. Literally.
Zero drag, zero noise, 100% fun.
It’s pure freedom: with the foil you can ride even in light wind, and when the wind picks up, flying is even more fun. Plus, the equipment is light and very easy to set up and carry. In short, if you love being on the water all the time, you really have to try wingfoiling.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or want to improve your level, our certified instructors will guide you step by step, safely and with plenty of fun, offering you their passion, the best RRD equipment and services like the rescue boat and BBTalkin radios that really make the difference.

Equipment included
We give you everything you need to go out on the water: wing, board, foil, leash, wetsuit, helmet, vest… You bring the desire to ride and learn, we’ll take care of the rest.

Rescue boat
Having a boat during your lesson is a whole different story. Whatever happens, we’re right there with you. And if you drift downwind, we come and pick you up.
Handy, right?

BBTALKIN RADIOS
So you’re always in touch with your instructor during the lesson: you’re followed closely and never miss a single tip.
BEGINNER COURSE
The most complete course: for every hour of practice on the water you also get an hour of theory on land.
First we explain everything you need to know to ride in complete safety, and you practise on the simulator to make the movements automatic. While you’re on the water we film you, and we analyse the videos together once back on the beach. That way you can see your mistakes and get corrected by your instructor. Combined with theory and practice on the water, this helps maximise your learning curve. And yes, the sooner you learn, the sooner you’re ready to fly!
ADVANCED COURSE
Perfect for raising the bar, this course runs 2 hours at a time, so we have time to plan your progress in the best way.
It starts with an initial briefing to assess your level and your goals.
During the lesson, the instructor takes videos and photos that are analysed at the end of the lesson. Screen in hand, the instructor will go through your mistakes and give you all the tips you need to improve your manoeuvres and tricks.
If you want to learn to gybe and tack in full foiling, try your first jumps or land your first backflip, this is the course for you.

Six things to know before starting your private wing foil course at PKS Maremma:
- Wing foiling is a sport anyone can do, but good basic knowledge from qualified instructors is essential, including how to handle the equipment safely. Avoid teaching yourself: it can be dangerous for you and for others.
- Wing foiling is probably the most immediate of the wind-powered board sports like windsurfing and kiting. You learn the basics in just a few hours.
- Like kiting and windsurfing, with planing boards it needs at least 11 knots of wind to perform at its best. And unlike windsurfing, below 5 knots the wing foil doesn’t work because it can’t generate lift.
- Before getting in the water, spend a few minutes studying the spot: check for hazards like rocks or restricted areas, how the wind is blowing, and how the waves and other people on the water are moving. If you launch from a beach during the bathing season, always check there’s a launch channel to get in and out of the water.
- Always check the condition of your equipment, especially if you haven’t used it for a while. Before putting it away, always rinse everything with plenty of fresh water.
- The position of the foil on the board changes how the whole system works! Moving the foil towards the bow gives you more lift, so it’s easier to get the board out of the water, but with less control. Moving it towards the stern gives you more control, but less lift.
